The Monday 5: Start your week beautifully

Beauty Director Beatrice Aidin picks products that perk up your Mondays (and the rest of the days too)

The Friday Five comes to you on a Monday this week because – oh, you will love this hook – I was introduced to a divine perfume with the amazing name of F*CK MONDAYS from a new range of perfumes, Confessions of a Rebel.

This perfume is the equivalent of an olfactory blast of Manic Monday: It wakes you up like a blast of coffee and energising citrus, cheery clary sage and stress-busting sandalwood for a spritz of Monday Motivation. £105,

How to treat rosacea

The number one colour correcting cream in the U.S., It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50 is a brilliant foundation. Full coverage, it corrects my mild rosacea, brightens, reduces the appearance of pores, the scar above my right eye, which is barely noticeable to anyone than me, disappears, while there’s a virtual trial tool on the website or arrange a video consultation to choose the correct shade. The founder, of IT Cosmetics, the acronym of Innovative Technology Cosmetics, is a former award-winning American TV anchor Jamie Kern Lima. She had problem rosacea and needed full coverage that didn’t melt with the heat from the light nor crease nor crack.  So she started IT working with doctors starting with a concealer with plastic surgeons. Launched to retail in 2008, during the financial meltdown, she was onto something and sold the company in eight years later for just shy of one billion pounds – not a million, a billion. IT’s a fabulous product and range – brava, Ms Kern Lima. £33,

Toothpaste tablets: An alternative way to clean

I’m going away in a couple of weeks – take that, pandemic! – and will be taking Hello  – Goodbye Plaque Whitening Toothpaste Tablets. I know! Toothpaste tablets? It’s the future.

With a 60-inch compact space-saving tin – so no plastic – enough for  a week for, say, four people. Plus it’s perfect for hand luggage. All you do is chew and brush your teeth, and they double up as mouth fresheners. The tablets contain peppermint, tea tree oil and coconut oil which soothes and moisturises the skin inside the mouth – that’s a thing apparently – and contain no artificial sweeteners. I’m ready for take-off! £7.99 or and stores

Glamorous lipstick

Whenever I open the Guerlain Double Mirror Case, I feel like Bette Davies in the 21 Club in New York refreshing my Rouge G Luxurious Velvet Collection lipstick after an equally refreshing martini. Go instore or online and choose your red lipstick shade, or a few to rotate the case, with textures from sheer shine to matte and then choose the case and away. Texture perfect, long-lasting and makes me feel like a Hollywood star as it will, you. Case £21, Rouge G Lipstick £27,

Anti-acne body cleanser

I do adore my soap and a new discovery is Carbon Theory Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Breakout Control Exfoliating Body Bar. Now even if your skin doesn’t breakout, spring and summer skin will be coming this soap – sorry, body bar – so the dead layers of your skin will need a challenge. This is the one with organic charcoal to draw out bacteria, organic tea tree to reduce inflammation, cellulose to exfoliate and shea butter to moisturise the skin. It also helps sort rough, bumpy keratosis pilaris – also known, rather indelicately, as chicken skin, normally found on the upper arms. Well, mine at least, The smell is zingy, it’s great as well for any teenagers in your life as is the skincare for blemish-prone skin and it’s affordable. £7.50,
