Dar Al-Islam Foundation Rules, Regulations and Policies

Welcome to Dar Al-Islam Foundation (DIF). In order for visitors, members of the community and staff to be safe, at peace and comfortable, we have listed below few policies and Code of Conduct guidelines for all to support and implement.

We would like everyone who attends the Dar to be happy, enjoy our activities, learn, achieve and participate in the creation of an environment of harmony and community brotherhood.

This policy applies to everyone who attends DIF

  • Users of the Dar Al-Islam
  • Visitors to the Dar Al-Islam
  • Staff members of the Dar Al-Islam

The type of behaviour that we would promote at the Dar Al-Islam includes the following:

  • Respect for others at the Dar, community members, visitors and staff
  • Respect for the property, resources and equipment that is used.
  • Being a role model to others at the Dar Al-Islam, giving encouragement and assistance when and if needed.

The type of activities and behaviour which we would consider unacceptable at the Dar includes the following:

  • Physically or verbally threatening or harassing any person in any way.
  • Using racial explicit language, obscene gestures or racial, religious or ethnic slurs that are likely to upset or disturb the peace of staff, volunteers or visitors.
  • Soliciting, for any purpose, including asking for money, contributions or donations unless such activity has been approved by the Administration.
  • Committing any unlawful act.
  • Fighting, annoying others through noisy or boisterous activities, or in any other way creating a disturbance which is disruptive or dangerous to others or the business activities of the DIF.
  • Posting or distributing non DIF flyers or notices without prior approval from the Administration or there designee.
  • Use of camera equipment unless such activity has been approved by the Administration.
  • Interaction with the speaker during the Friday sermon is strictly forbidden.
  • No one is allowed to stay at the Dar overnight unless granted a written permission from Management
  • No decorations requiring attachment by tacks, nails, staples or otherwise, so as to mar or damage the walls, ceilings, posts, or other finished surfaces may be used under any conditions without a written permission from Management.
  • .Zero tolerance for weapons and drugs.

Failure to comply with the above Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary and/or legal action at the discretion of Management.

General Policies

  • Points of view expressed by any mode of communication (written, spoken, or otherwise) at any place in the DIF do not necessarily represent the standpoints of the Dar Al-Islam.

  • No one should give any speech or make any announcement in the DIF without a prior permission from management or their designee(s).

  • The DIF reserves the right to cancel any event it finds to be of a nature not in conformance with the Islamic norms.

  • The DIF reserves the right to exclude or dismiss all objectionable visitors and users from the premises without legal liability on its part for so doing.

  • The DIF premises and equipment should be handled with all due care. Any damage to equipment resulting from their use and/or handling shall render the person liable for damages
  • The DIF operates on No smoking policy within the building.
  • All arranged activities in the Dar Al-Islam require approval by DIF management.
  • Parents or other adults should accompany children during scheduled programs.
  • Mobile phones are to be placed on the vibrate mode or turned off when in the prayer halls.
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the prayer halls.
  • Community members and visitors are to observe parking regulations in the neighbourhood of the DIF
